Conus oinouyei (Yokoyama, 1928)
Descrizione.
Shell
rather small, obconical, with spire low and concave in lateral outlines. Whorls
about nine, either fiat or slightly excavated, with peripheral angle projecting
aboye the suture more on the younger whorls than on the older; spirally
striate, with striae several in number and close together. Periphery angular.
Body-whorl almost straight when laterally viewed, the curvature being very
slight, apparently smooth on the upper two-thirds
and spirally grooved on the lower one-third. Aperture narrow, parallel-sided (1).
A single example which we possess
is about :35 millim. in height and 12 millim. in diameter.
The
species which shows the closest affinity to the present is Conus sieboldi
Rve. (Yokoyama,
Foss. Miura Penin., p. 34, pl. I, fig. 14), especially
when it is young, which, however, has the peripheral angle more projecting and
the whorls more concave.
Fossil occurrence. Lower Byoritz
Beds: South of Kwan-in San, Taikei Gai, Shinchik
A fragmen of a Conus
resembling this species was picked up from the Upper Arisand Bedsat

-----------------------------------------------------------
The morphology of this
species can be identified with that recorded by Hu and Tao (2003); the shell is
conical, and the spiral layer is Ladder-shaped distribution, body snails have
inclined shoulders, and slender horizontal stripes. The shell surface is smooth
(2).
According to Yokoyama
(Yokoyama, 1928), this species was reported to be produced in the "Miaoli
layer of the ㆘be" (=
Guizhulin layer) in the New Epoch (2)
